1975 RCA Sportable sound problem.

I took a look at this set because the sound wasn't working.
This is one of those AC/DC 9" Sportable RCA's from the mid 70's, they came in various sporty colors, this one is white.

It wasn't too hard to diagnose, wiggling the sound module around would cause the sound to cut in and out.

Several of the contacts in the socket were unsprung and flush with the surface, preventing good contact, my attempt to spring one back out met with instant breakage of the pin.

From the gunk on the cabinet and chassis I can tell something was spilled (possibly Urine or maybe Soda) inside this set at some time, it landed on the pins and over time corroded them so they are very brittle now.

Does anyone know if this socket was a serviceable item or where I might find one? Otherwise I'll just have to hardwire the module to the chassis.

I never considered white as a sporty color. LOL. I've replaced them. Maybe someone has one from a scrap chassis. It doesn't have to be the same model. It has to be the right side and the right amount of contacts. They can be easily removed with a de-soldering iron or solder wick.

I remember working on one very similar. I think I desoldered the module socket, soldered bare wires to the edge connector on the module and just soldered the module directly to the circuit board.
Or I may have just bent the pins up out of the socket and cleaned them and soldered them right to the edge connector. It was probably about 10 years ago I did it. The problem was the module socket was cracked and would make intermittent contact.
