rectangle Zenith sets- when did they appear?

I seem to be brain dead at the moment and really don't have time to research the question - so what year did Zenith add rectangle color sets to their line up? '66 or '67? Or am I way off the target?

Thanks

Zenith was late 1965, with the "M" models. RCA, about mid 1965, with the CTC17. Of course, Motorola, was late 1963, with their wonderful 23EGP22. I think Toshiba came out with the 15" big neck CRT, early to mid 1965.

And the '55 Westinghouse 22" rectangular set, of course. But I can barely qualify that POS as any more than an experimental set.

Mitsubishi had a 5-inch rectangular Trinoscope set in '64. I wouldn't say that really qualifies as more than an experiment, although they did sell a few, as the Japanese companies often went all the way to production with impractical things like this.

We had a Motorola 23" that got 3 CRT's... 2 under warranty, before we had enough and bought a Maggotbox 25V set that ran for almost 12 years before lightning got it.

We had one of those Toshiba/Sears 15-17" rectangulars...What a POS ! Luckily, we had a service contract on it, often th' damthing would "Tear Up" B4 the poor repair guy got out of the driveway good...My dad said the hell w/it, & got one of the 1st Porta-Colors in NE TN in late '65/early '66. He sold the Sears to a guy, who ran it for 10 years, it never gave any trouble...Guess it just didn't "Like" us...The Porta-Potty, as typical, was on 12-18 hrs a day, still goin' strong when we replaced it w/a Trinitron in about 72-73.
