We have had a discussion before about a similar looking console set, 7" electrostatic CRT with oversized magnifier bezel and sort of a "folded horn" looking speaker. I don't think that a solid id was ever established:

It does have a sort of homemade look to it. That chassis looks like an Automatic TV-709.

This looks like the previous one we discussed, just in a lot better shape.

I love the look of the tube surround, I'd get it running and play a close up video of an eyeball looking around.

BTW, it's rare and the last one sold for a bundle on eBay so I would snap it up if it's at a decent price.

Sticker on the set said "not for sale"
I asked the owner just to make sure and he said absolutely not going to sell it. I just hate when you go to an antique store and there are things there that are not for sale

Looks like it's straight out of Jules Vernes' Nautilus sub.

It is an intrigueing set, and stuff like that (when visable from the window) gets folks in the door. It pisses the folks who want to buy it, but does generate revenew form unsuspecting curious folks who just want to know what it is and stumble accross something they can't leave without.

That said intrigueing is the only good adjective for that set. Depending on which way I look at it, it is either ugly and wierd or stylish and cool. It is so intrigueing that if it was for sale locally I'd blow my budget on it just to make up my mind about it.

Yeah, that thing needs some Cheesy Organ music, flames flashing around it, & the merciless Ming of Mongo doing his nefarious deeds while watching Our Hero suffer on it...Mbwahahahahahahaha...(grin)
