A short Kutztown report

Back from Kutztown and a short...and somewhat OT report.

The tv finds were thin. Sorry, no pix. Radios were everywhere. Best find...Waves got a nice 1948 Philco 10" I had never seen. Early production but missing the back. Not a side-car, but a straight front with a curved back edge. No back.

Spotted;

621TS. Varnish flying everywhere. $$$$.
Andrea 10". Sold.
Two Fada 621 types. Both mediocre cabinets. Not sold.
Several Moto 7". Not good.
Philco 7" bakelite. Good condition. Sold. $?
GE 17" metal cabinet. On it's way to far east. $85.
RCA 17" console. Make an offer. No one did.

Things I bought;

2 transistor Boys Radio NOS working. $10
Zenith 12" BW portable w/tubes. Working with no model number. $4.
Japan restored mini AA5. Baby blue plastic is nice. $15.
Grundig AM/FM/SW xstr working. Slimline wood veneer tabletop style. $22.

My favourite;

Zenith Allegra 100 tabletop AM/FM/phono ensemble. $1.

Disco lives! 70's vintage tabletop with the clear tilt-cover over the turntable and AM/FM tuner. Some cleaning and a few more vinyls to exercize the changer and all will be well. Old belt was slipping. Not a proper replacement. It was cut down with a sissors. New/old belt was laying inside. Put it back after cleaning and turntable is spinning. FM is spectacular with the line cord antenna and is working L/R/Center lamps for tuning.

Two outboard speaks with what looks like 6" bass and two tweeters in each speaker. It is in perfect condition and Benny Goodman is playing on the phono right now. Go vinyl!

Gotta give those spammers credit, they do write some interesting stuff! (sometimes, I bet, it is even in context!)

Looks like he clipped that sentence out of the original post. I've seen other instances where they seem to grab some phrase form the thread, do an Internet search on it, and post some seemingly related content.

Perhaps we should suggest that spammers find themselves lives.

I was at Kutztown Saturday morning and got myself a stock of new caps from the radio club table, and some terminal strips I needed. Nothing else followed me home this time, stable pretty full as it is, and calendar filled up with remodeling projects. I may go up on Friday in September and see if any strays call to me.
