Can anyone identify this TV Kit?

I picked up this kit from the ETF auction in 2008. At that time no one could positively identify it. Some thought that it might be a custom build versus a production kit. A few years later another one sold on eBay so it must be a production kit. The first picture is the one I got from ETF auction. The other pics are the eBay kit. My kit has a 7EP4 CRT.

I dunno, but the plywood grain is the same on both the first set pictured and the second set - possible mix-up in photos, or the same set?

Cheers,

Not the same set unless the eBay seller didn't really have the set. The first picture was taken on a table while at the ETF convention. The second and third picture was taken on a tile floor and has the eBay seller's watermark in lower right corner. Also the 2nd component from the left on the back plate of both sets is slightly different. My set also doesn't have the metal shield on the CRT as shown in the 3rd picture. My set was from the Dave Johnson estate. I asume it works or is close to working since Dave took such good care of his sets. I haven't turned it on.

I won a blonde Zenith Mayflower at the same auction, also Dave's.
The set works very well.

Thanks electronjohn. Both Meissner and Garod had prewar 5" sets with appearances similar to this kit. I think Meissner was involved with the Spreyberry kit around 1948 which has a more modern look to it. I have a stash of old TV magazines where I may locate an article or picture of this kit some day.

That's postwar, and likely a TV repair school kit.
