XL-100 tuner UHF
OK, maybe I'm just being thick, but I can't figure out the tuner on this set. no UHF but ABC's after 13 (single knob). HELP!

It's probably an 18 channel varactor tuner. There should be about 18 preset labeled 2 thru 13 and a thru f. Possibly, where the set came from, they didn't use UHF.

RCA had a "cable ready" tuner option on the CTC-68 (and I'm sure later.) That may be what you have. The UHF tuner was labeled "A" through "L" and was varactor-tuned. There was a switch by the antenna connections that threw that bank over to cable - there should be a converter in there somewhere.
If it's a CTC-68, the UHF tuner will be KRK194B; the converter is KRK212. If that is what you have let me know - I have an RCA manual that explains it pretty clearly. I'd scan it for you. Last edited by AUdubon5425; 03-10-2011 at 09:04 AM. |
