With the Chatum you're paying for the box "doghouse". You can pick up a 103 console for $100 on a good day. I wouldn't pay $800 for a Chatum but I wouldn't sell mine for $800 either. I paid $300 9 years ago for it; now it is as old as prewar sets were 9 years ago (1948 vs 1939). A doghouse cabinet with alll the knobs in excellent condition is probably worth $300 or more? At one time most serious collectors wanted a doghouse since they couldn't afford a prewar set, RCA 621 or Temple.
