25Z6GT Rectifier(V15) circuit/Delco TV-71A

HI: This is used in a Delco model tv-71a/Sams set 99a/folder3
My set looks to have never been worked on and I have a question about the 2 - 30mrd/200v caps used here. the print shows at pin #3 neg and positive side to ground for C 59A cap together with positive side for C59A and the neg side goes the R74 1200 ohm 1 watt resistor. This set uses a 2 in one capacitor with both 30mfd inside it. They have only used 1 cap which is the C59A at pin #3 and the lead for the C59B has been sniped off and not used. Maybe some one you has done a restoration of this set can tell me why this was done? thanks

Hard to say without the schematic handy or a picture of your set. Perhaps that section had gone bad and someone clipped it ?

Ah, got it. Those two caps plus the resistor form a PI filter. With C59B snipped off it will still work but you'd probably have more ripple. When I restored my 506, I wired it just like the schematic.
