A tale of two tv's.... What to do with limited funds??

I have two RCA 721 TS sets.
ONe, cabinet has been poorly refinnished. No,not by me.
It's incomplete, especially missing channel selector knob, and, back cover. I had re capped it manny years ago. Resistors in power supply failed. I replaced them. At that time I had it on the variac. Had audio reception, and, 1kv of hv on second anode, and, no raster.
That was manny years ago. It may need some re capping.
Now, comes the other one, which I wish to keep for myself. I am now under budget restraints, so, this is making me lean one way.
I had started work on it many years ago, but, never got far. I had replaced open resistors in power supply, and, a few caps, but, nothing else.
That chassis looks cleaner, but, I think I can clean other.
I am thinking switch chassis, and, put a restored, playing chassis in my nearly mint cabinet. Would you think that's o.k., or, take out caps from other, or, what???
I want to get my 721 finally finnished. I still have to work on my sorry 630.

Bill, if it were me I'd probably sell the first one and use the funds to start from scratch with the second one with the good cabinet.

Mixing and matching is something I try to avoid if at all possible, plus if you cannibalize the first set it'll be worthless.

If both CRTs are good you might keep the extra one and sell the first set minus CRT for parts, or keep it for parts for your own set, though RCA parts wouldn't be all that hard to find anyway.

I'm not familiar with the 721TS. I'd too prefer not to mix and match, but I certainly did that with my Sylvania to get the set I wanted.

If you put both chassis and cabinets in front of someone and asked them to tell which chassis belonged with each cabinet would they be able to tell?

Both cabinets are exactly alike.
The only noticeble difference is the earlier one from mint cabinet had electromagnetic ion trap.
The other one used permanent magnet.
Otherwise, exactly the same.
Neither had a good pix tube.
The first pix was broken. This one was dead, and, not rejuvable.
The other one is missing two knobs, the most important the channel selector.
The good one is complete.
However, I just can't see buying more parts for this one if the other one was nearly fixed.
