Flea market fresh Emerson 754 portable

Picked up this 3-way portable Emerson 754 for $15 at the flea market. It looks like it will clean up well and I noticed that it has a tuned RF stage; so, it should be a good performer. I can't find the model in any of my books or on nostalgiaair; but, I'm guessing it's from the early '50's. It uses the following tubes: 1U4, 1L6, 1U4, 1U5, and 3V4. The 1L6 alone is probably worth the $15 I gave for the radio if it's still good.

It also takes a combination "AB" battery pack which I will have to make up using modern batteries should I decide to run this one on battery power. The original battery pack was an Eveready 756.

If the color rendition of the picture is right, it looks like after a good cleanup you could go over it with cordovan paste shoe polish to color in the nicks and shine it up.
