Unusual Porta-Color in UK
Hello,
see this unusual Porta-Color in UK: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/vintage-granad...item230548c335 It is labeled "Granada Colourette". Is this a modified General Electric, or a British made set? - Eckhard |

that is definetly a re-branded G.E. Portacolor. even the knobs & trim are exactly the same ones used on the American model.
the only difference i see is the lack of a U.H.F. tuning knob. |

Hi Robert1,
do you have an idea how the mains was lowered from 235v a.c. down to 115v a.c. for the re-branded G.E. Portacolor? Kind regards, Eckhard |

the U.K. model that you posted may have a different chassis in it. i have one of these G.E. Portacolors buried under my bench. one day, when i get a chance, i will take a picture of the chassis & post it here. |

G.E. had electronic assembly plants all over the world. remember the G.E. Wildcat portable stereo phonograph that was popular around 1971-1973, the amplifier PC boards were made in ireland. |
