Where do people find out about upcoming shows?

Not trying to sound like a wiseguy, but I'm serious.

Where, and/or how, do people find out what shows are coming up in the next week or so, to watch and/or record? Some use TiVos, I still use a VCR.

Newspapers are dying off, so Sunday weekly listings are more rarely read.

The TV Guide of old is gone, and I don't see the new one around here anymore.

I'm pretty sure that most people don't run to their computers and do searches for new shows or network schedules. I mean, I do, but my ass is welded to my PC chair anyhow.

Do most people just plop down in front of the TV and watch the least offensive show that happens to be on? I refuse to do that, personally.

How do you manage this?

Well, since the analog TV guide data that ran my HD DVR went bye-bye, I use the guide on my Dish network box to figure out if there's anything over-the-air I want in HD. That's goood for 8 days in advance. Have not signed up for Dish HD service yet. All the other stuff I want from the Science channel or etc., I record on the Dish PVR and/or on DVD if I want it permanently. I also subscribe to the local PBS station, so I get their monthly paper guide. And I do occasionally look for program guides for particular channels (History Channel, etc.) online.

So, yeah, TV Guide originally had access to my eyeballs, but they have totally blown it. I assume they still are on cable, but I use cable only for the internet.
