Kuba Color tv set C225 from 1967
Hello,
since some months, a very rare Kuba color tv set from 1967 is in the exhibition of the Kuba-Museum in Wolfenbuettel. How would you rank the quality of this set? The one Kuba product I've had experience with (a console stereo) was a couple steps below what I've seen from Grundig, Nordmende, etc.
Who built this crt? Thanks for posting!

Hello,
this set has appr. 12 tubes. The quality was very low. Due to enormous heating problems, the horizontal chassis caught fire or burnings. The boards of the high voltage and booster circuits are double-layered, and it often arcs and sparks. Regards, Eckhard

it may be unreliable but it's a nice set for sure!
The speaker in this set was made by IREL of Genova, Italy, this one is strange in that it has a bare metal frame, most IREL speakers were painted dark blue. i'm wondering why so many German sets were fitted with IREL speakers instead of German-made speakers like Isophon, DEW and so on, even the famous Uher Report recorder had an IREL speaker.

Braun FS 1000
Hello! The chassis is identical to the one which equipped an old Braun FS 1000 color tv I had when I was a boy. It produced a very good picture for many years and then the HV transformer went bad. The replacement was already no longer available in the eighties. It had a bonded picture tube made in USA I think from Westinghouse and a completely white, huge cabinet . Too bad I completely destroyed it...
 It had controls exactly placed as the Kuba and a plastic black trim around the screen.

It was not so unreliable! Lets not forget it lasted for more than four decades! Mine was not unreliable, it had a couple of tubes changed during its fifteen years of life. Never a fire, never a spark. It died quietly while I was watching it showing a wonderful rainbow pattern.
