Prima

Okay, my tele did not make it, finally dying as to sound and picture last night. As the tuner was killed 15 years ago (2nd replacement) I'm not going to sink money into it. Went looking today for a CRT based tele and at the Sears demo outlet there is a Prima HT3461. Never hear of the company and on seaching found their websight but nothing review wise. Figured I'd hit the go to guys here and ask if anyone has any experience with the company and if I should steer clear of it. Not sure what is inside but I could not lift even 1 corner. There is a DVI connector on the back so I guess it is either HD capable or ready.

I've never heard of them; but, it's very possible that it's made by Funai (cheap garbage). If I were going to buy a CRT set today; I'd try to find a Sanyo. They are one of the few CRT sets made for a reasonable price that are not total junk. I'm not impressed with the newer RCA's and most everything else is rebranded Funai crap.

Actually went online to look at prices and the LCDs have come down so much I may just go with one. Not sure all the spec things with these as not really into televisions that much. The one that died is our main set and out others are a little elcheapo 5" b&w battery unit with radio and a 5" (maybe less, jr has had it for the past 15 years or so) color with am/fm/cassette.

Prima TVs are made by Prima in China who also makes Advent and Apex TVs.
