tele checker?

Hi Gang: On that auction site that remains nameless there is a device billed as tele checker. It is a CRT in a box with a yoke and clip leads. THis is the item number: 170191278996 If anybody can help us determine what this is and how to use it, thank you. OK, I better just spell it out: ebay. It could have been amazon I guess. --Tom

Some of the older sets had the picture tube mounted to the cabinet instead of the chassis of the set. This would allow you to put the chassis in service without pulling the picture tube and yoke out of the set. I have one with a 8" picture tube in it. It saves alot of time on some of the older b&w sets. Hope this helps.

I also have one and it is a big help when bench testing sets. Very handy.
