Zenith Bugeye
I got this Zenith Bugeye from bgadow a few months ago and just now got around to putting in my NOS 17AVP4. So far that's all I've done and here's the results. It's got a little bit of a vertical linearity problem that won't adjust out but a recap should take care of that. The picture is super sharp and the sound doesn't buzz except when the credits are rolling. The video on the screen is from Road to Rio with Bob Hope and Bing Crosby.
Thanks Bryan...

Welcome to the Bugeye club. Mine is my main TV at this point, and is probably going off to college with me next fall. It some vertical issues as well, even though I've done a full recap, most likely from a drifting resistor somewhere in the vertical circuit.

Great to see it! I'm really glad it found a good home...that is a well-travelled Zenith!

I've just about finished with it, I ran out of .1mfd capacitors so I've got to make up a Mouser order now, that's ok since I need to replenish my capacitor stock after the Zenith 23G22. Then it goes into my Den where it will set on a lazy susan wrought iron TV stand so I can watch my old movies and DVD's of old TV shows on it.
