ebay wanted ad
I dont know if such a thing exists, but ebay should develop some kind of "wanted" ad. Ive been looking for a space command table color set for the longest time, and I figure if I could put up an ad through ebay it would work out. In fact, 2 years ago I illeagaly used ebay and posted "wanted, vintage color TV". I was surprized with the number of emails on all the people who offered me some of their sets, sets that would have never made it to the auction because these people didnt think the set was worth the time and effort to sell.
It was very sucessful then, and I picked up 2 very nice sets back in 02. This only proves that a wanted ad for ebay would be a wise development. I would certinaly pay a fee to list a wanted ad. What ebay needs to do is have a "wanted" subcategory for every catergory. i.e. vintage TV, then also have vintage tv WANTED, transistor radios+ transistor radios WANTED etc. We would have a better chance at finding some of the specific things we want as opposed to waiting and waiting relying on someone to eventually list what we are looking for.

Yeah, I can see something like that working. You put up a description and maybe pictures of what you want and the most you're willing to pay for it. Then people can bid the price down until the person willing to sell you one for the loest price wins.

I've seen lots of sellers put "wanted" item comments inside a regular auction listing. If you've got anything for sale, just put in a "Btw, if anyone has an **** for sale, email me."

ebay wanted ads
I too have seen lots of wanted ads, some "hidden" inside of selling ads and others with the word WANTED across the top like the guy who wants to buy a Zenith Royal 500 in nos condition for $20.00. What's the worst that can happen, you get a bad boy don't do that again message? I once placed an ad for two transistor radios the same model but different colors. I received an automated message stating that the word choice was in my description and offering a choice was not allowed. I ignored the message and ran the auction with no problems. He picked the red one.
