Unassembled Heathkit on eBay

$425 BIN seems reasonable if it's all there.

Jah, I suppose so...

Do you think that the eventual buyer will build it? Or does it lose its caché if he does?

One thing for sure, toss all the electrolytics...

I'm not sure that I would call it a real Heath Kit. It's just an 80's System 3 set that hasn't been assembled. I don't think you even get to solder the parts to the boards on these kits. Just snap the boards in and plug in all the cables. As far as the caps go, I would only bother replacing any that are obviously leaking. Even sets like this that have been used for 20 years usually only have a few bad caps.

Owners manual

For some reason I have the Heathkit manual for that set and it was copyright dated 1985. You do get to build the crosshatch circuit board. The rest of it looks as if you just plug the Zenith modules together. Looks like the main module was a 9-214.
