I was thinking the same thing. Thought about sending an email but I don't have space or time to take on another project - especially a console. Best of luck, Doug, and let us know what you find out. I always enjoy reading the stories that go with your set finds - especially your recent find in Chicago Heights. I went to high school a block or two away from there, and my wife still has family in the area.

I'm picking up the TV tomorrow. Its a D4512W, which is the lowest end zenith console you could buy in 1973. Just a plain box with four legs. It uses the 23DC14 chassis, which is a 4 tube hybrid. Hopefully its in nice shape. The fact that the guy got back to me with model number is a good sign that the red lettered model tag hasn't faded away like so many of them have.

Even if it was a plain-jane set, a '73 Zenith can rarely be a 'bad' find!
Good luck . . . |

Glad you're getting it! I have not seen a 4 tube hybrid console in a long time!

Doug will have it playing better than new if he decides to get it. Whether its the bottom or top of the line model, a fantastic picture speaks for itself. Doug is the best at bringing the full potential out of these. I'm curious to see what this model looks like as i've stumbled across very few base line models around here.
