I don't see anything wrong with cell phones: mine has helped out a lot especially while traveling.
Personally I enjoy being able to use old TV's, cars, etc. but I would not like to live in the past! I can remember times when I could only pick up one TV channel, had no internet access, cell phone, air conditioning, satellite TV, DVD player, microwave oven and probably other things and I would not want to give up their convenience now that I have them.
