Yes Carmine I agree with you. The widescreen formats were a novelty thought up in the 50's to try and give theatres an edge over TV...and it does give certain movies extra realism...but especially for TV shows shot indoors I think it's silly. And...too often people have the 4:3 picture stretched out to fill the 16:9 image.
