Since you've got no sound it isn't likely the problem is in a video circuit; if the set works OK with signal sent to the video input, I'd suspect the IF or tuner. If still no video, make sure all of the power supplies are alive.
Its been a long time since I've seen one of those, but I seem to remember something about the connectors that the modules plug into failing occasionally. I think the plastic cracked, allowing the contacts to loose touch with the modules.
