It's a Meck!
I just looked closely at the instruction envelope and the blacked out return address in the upper corner. Hold it just right in the light and the address of John Meck Industries, Plymouth, IN barely shows up.
This must have been a closeout or factory second that was so bad even Meck did not want their name on it.
Remarkably, when I bought it, someone in the crowd called this just right. "It looks like a Meck".
As to EH Scott, a little research showed that EH left the company in 1946 and it staggered on in to the mid-50's. Somewhere along the line Meck bought the remnants or the name which did not have EH on it by then.
The original was on Ravenswood Av. in Chicago.
