If I were you I'd resolder the driver transformer and also the Horzontal output transister,flyback and yoke section,and vertical section on the circuit board.The later Sonys are notorious for bad solder connections and loss of drive to the horizontal output will take it out as well as the regulator transistors and fusible resistor.If you have intermittent loss of width there's a good chance there's a bad solder joint somewhere in the horizontal section.
