My luck seems to me changing. On my way to the store I saw a nice 20" Sony at the end of someone's drive. It was too far into the drive to be sure it was trash, so I knocked on the door and they told me to take it. Upon closer inspection, the cord had been cut, so I guess it was obviously trash. It's a nice "V" series which was the top of the line 20". I put a plug on it and it powered up with a very dim picture, but normal on screen display (so I knew the CRT was ok). While going over the board for bad soldering, I found a small crack near the flyback. 4 jumper wires later it has a nice bright picture. After some adjustment it will look great.
I've been needing a TV since I moved here 6 weeks ago. All my TVs are still in storage and the 27" Panasonic I brought got smashed by UPS.
