If you really want to see a good picture, you should get a DVD player with an RGB output, or a device to convert component to RGB. This will bypass all the chroma and comb filter circuits resulting it the best picture you will ever see on that set. It will look as good as a modern set with a component input. The only US DVD players I've seen with RGB are sold under the "classic" or "mustec" brands. You could probably find one on ebay for $20 or so. There's also a Samsung model that will output RGB if you replace the firmware with the European equivalent.
