Clipping out parts may not be the best way to troubleshoot a problem. You need to first verify that the flyback is installed correctly and that it is the same part number or one that is an acceptable substitute. Then you need to determine what is causing the damper tube to draw excessive current. Just because a tube looks normal it may not be working. If the part you clipped went to the plate of the damper pin 4,10 or to the cathode pin 7 ( the only two connections by the way other than a 22mfd cap connected to pin 4,10 which might be bad) the tube would still light up but it would not be doing anything. Schematic will be esential here. It is sams 1119-sed.
