I can see a niche market for the 16x9 b&w sets - watching old b&w DVDs such as "A night to remember".
Even on good colour TVs with excellent convergence, b&w never looks the same as on a REAL b&w screen - at least to me. Maybe it's something to do both with convergence and the shadow mask/dot-stripe patterns?
