The tubes on the circuit board should be seven or nine pin miniature...the only octal tubes in this set are probably the 6BK4 and 3A3. Just check the pins on the tubes pulled from the suspect sockets.
The other types of tube sockets used in the set will be 9-pin Novar (large nine pin base like a damper or horizontal output tube or certain vertical oscillator/ output tubes) and a 12 pin Compactron base (certain other large tubes and multi-function tubes).
