I bought mine as a young teenager (mid-80s), I think I partially bartered something for it. Cost me $15 including the suitcase & battery pack. I later somehow lost of destroyed the battery pack but found another real cheap. I remember once going on an overnight trip for in school & the place we stayed had no television. I snuck this set along & was able to watch Johnny Carson that night! Mine always worked well but with a noisy audio, a bad cap I'm sure. The last time I turned it on the audio was dead. Not looking forward to fixing it. I also have a later model w/UHF that I don't think works; also a Sharp without a cabinet, for parts, looks just like these things.
