I have a ctc5 deluxe and the convergence is near perfect. The procedure differs from later sets. But if you follow the instructions in the manual, it converges very well.
My CTC5 is running well and we watch it on a regular basis with OTA and OTT via a Roku box.
Curious what convergence issue you have.
