Everyone has their own definition of value. Yes, different sets have certain average prices in the market based on their relative rarity & desirability, but ultimately if a person wants a particular object and is OK with paying the asking price, then that's that.
I bet a number of non-collectors would say they "feel sorry" for all of us here for spending any money at all on antique TVs. What some would call "vintage treasures" others would consider "old junk."
