It's been years since I did the mod, but I seem to recall I stole the composite and line level audio pins from the header to the tuner (or it might of been the outputs on the camera connector) and put a 3.5mm trrs jack on the back so that I was able to steal a cleaner video and audio signal out of the tape deck if the tuner was not available.
