It could be done with video editing software (especially if you want to make a single file that contains an episode with commercials etc added in). Or you could also do a play list.
What I do is use VLC media player and an older PC with a graphics card that has an S-Video out (they made cards that supported them into the windows Vista era and windows 10 still supports some (though win 7 supports them better) ).
A while back my permission to pick things out of the E-waste bin at work landed me a rack mount server with a ~16 SCI/sata hot swapable HDD front bay and 4 PCIex16 connectors (and enough S-video cards to fill them). I've got this crazy idea to at some point build it up into a 4 video output media system and automate it so in concert with 4 BT aglie modulators I can have 4 different stations running whatever I want...
