OK, I revisited the new stereo Tetrad cartridge and two things went wrong, as a result of me getting frustrated. 1. I had it wired wrong. 2. The needle was not seated properly. After I corrected these issues, the stereo Tetrad sounds just as good as the mono Tetrad and I now have both channels of a stereo record.
I sent an email to Gary to make him aware of my findings. It will all depend on what he has to say; but, in the future, I'll probably only order stereo cartridges and wire them for mono (unless we determine that the mono Tetrad is defective).
