About the only thing I see as missing from the VA62 that you might want for working on tube sets is the horizontal output plate drive. It has up to 300VPP grid drive, though.IMO, this is far outweighed by the flexibility and stability of the VA62.

The 1077B is a flying spot scanner, which allows you to make your own custom test pattern slides.

The VA48 is just an older version of the 62, without the digital programmable RF/IF frequencies. Nothing much to recommend a 48 over the 62 as the prices are comparable nowadays.
