The only TV I ever paid myself to buy new, was a 27" CRT high definition TV with a 4:3 picture tube.
But the first TV I ever had new (but not purchased by me) was a 13" RCA XL-100 Remote. (Yea, "Remote" is part of the model name.. It's BPC stuff, required already a transistor to be replaced, when it was only 8 years old. But I replaced it myself and diagnosed myself so I was proud, cause at the time I did the replacement, I wasn't even 18 yet.
