It is probably a tube type TV, but this is not certain. I have a 1965 Sylvania about this same size that is solid state except for the high voltage rectifier.
I have two tube type TVs that are similar to this-a Hitachi and Curtis Mathis(I am sure the CM is Japanese manufacture).
