Time for an update. Most of the problems this started with are now fixed. Special satisfaction comes from things like replacing the fine tuning gears, since I had them in my junkbox. Always great to have stuff like that a few steps away! I've been doing a lot of small troubleshooting and tweaking, but still have a ways to go, as the pictures will prove. This would have been a great set for a TV repair class since just about everything seemed to be a little out of whack. I spent a lot of time trying to get the horizontal to lock in; a slight adjustment of the waveform coil snapped it back in place. Something is still odd in the circuit as it will lock in fine when tuning a station in, but when trying to display a crosshatch pattern it is out of phase (?) with the division somewhere in the middle. This might have to wait for me to get another scope. I'm now playing with the color. Red in particular is showing up very weak which is almost certainly a circuit problem as that is the strongest of the 3 guns. I have tons of reference books and really need to sit down and study up on this. The good news, for now, is that it is alive!

Note: I can't blame my camera; it really does look like that!
