It all comes down to what shape the CRTs are in. NOS ones are complete unobtanium at this point, and I don't think they were ever considered rebuildable, even when CRT rebuilding was a viable option for most tubes.
The CRTs have the Schmidt optical system built right in, with the phosphor deposited on an internal plate in front of a spherical mirror.
