A friend of mine had the same thing happen to his Samsung. The DLP chip on the DMD board was failing due to heat stress from the bulb. The longer you play the tv the more spots will eventually appear. It can be replaced and is available but can run as much as $300 for a replacement. There are several links on the web that show you how to replace the chip but you will have to decide whether it is cost effective to repair or replace the tv.
