Could be the CTC120 or maybe CTC117. Yes get it. Some XL-100 tvs had the photocell for automatic brightness according to room lighting like my 120 has and 117 did. It can get irritating at times but overall is pretty well-implemented.
As was outlined in the Trintitron thread, many old sets can look fantastic after a little adjustment.
