The whole trick here is hes using the very limited current from the flyback, insulating himself from ground and passing the hv from one finger to another. The sweater he is the better. High current!?!? its less than 1ma!
These are all tricks that look cool because people are so afraid of electricity. I can and do all the same crap.
It takes 50 ma to kill someone. Look at what hes doing to light that incandescent bulb, hes passing very low ma from the fly of that tv and charging that oil cap to flash the bulb.
The trick is using the metal to draw the arc. The arc hurts because the area it penetrates is so small.
One of my tricks is to hold on to a big screwdrivers lay my arm on the fender and draw a big arc from a high energy ignition of a car to the screwdriver. Blots peoples mind.
