You might want to check uline.com for the instapack foam packets. It's a pouch with the 2 parts of the foam separated inside the pouch. When you rupture the internal divider, the chemicals mix. What you do is activate one, put it in the box, place your item in, activate another, and place it on top and then close and tape the box up. It contours to the object you put in. But if I remember correctly it requires some sort of machine to use them.

I've seen alot of motors and more sensitive items shipped using this, and basicly you would really have to beat the hell out of it to damage the item.
