Ahh, I see. Well that makes sense. I was thinking about getting a 55" Samsung before things start getting ridiculously expensive, but was getting turned off by the funky picture aspect.
I absolutely hate that soap opera look. I guess there is a reason that it is in there but I sure don't care for it.
My DLP Samsung is still going strong, over 5k hours on the bulb....knock on wood. But just would like a larger screen. Silly I guess...but still a gadget geek.
When looking at the pictures on the various sets, standard lcd, led/lcd and plasma, I was still amazed at the muddy look of the plasma sets still.
One neat thing about the plasma sets was the nice, warm feel I got from it while standing in front of it. Reminded me of a 25 tube set by the amount of heat radiating from it.
I would assume that the LED backlit LCD sets may have fewer power supply issues since power requirements seem not to be as high.
One thing I have noticed though is that LCD's tend to make my eyes tired....kinda like ear fatigue. My DLP or CRT sets don't seem to do that to me like LCD and Plasma sets do. My eyes almost hurt when looking at a set with the frame interpolation on.
