I've got one of these too. Works very well, in fact I used it as a bedroom TV for a while.
I can still remember the Kmart by where I grew up having a separate room in the electronics department with shelves on the walls full of operating TV sets.

So the bar is just a camera sync problem?
On the thread "smallest all tube portable" the mid-50s 8" RCA still appears to be the winner at 8"x8.5"x13" (884 cu in), is this set even close to that?
