My friend, who sells stuff at the flea market, went to some yard sales in an attempt to find things to flip. He said he saw plenty 19" TV's that worked fine for $5 and $10. Did he buy any of them? Nope, because we already have TV's that no one is interested in. He bought one 13" TV/VCR combo for $2 that was supposed to be broken; but, it turns out that the channels only needed to be programmed into it's channel memory. He said that if he could get $20 for it, he'd be real happy. He did see a 12" B&W at a yard sale for $15. He tried to reason with the woman who had it; but, she let him know that the price was $15, take it or leave it. She probably thought that if a working TV wasn't worth $15 to someone; then, they don't need a TV. I can understand that; but, I can also understand that with current TV trends, you'd be lucky to give away a 12" B&W.

There's only one type of person, besides collectors, that will buy a CRT TV - the type who can not afford anything else. Just the other day, someone called me to see if I had any TV's. He said he'd just moved to town, didn't have a lot of money, and just wanted something to watch. He said all that the stores had were flat panel sets that he couldn't afford and the pawn shops wanted a minimum of $150 for anything they had. I had a 19" 2004 BPC Symphonic and an '88 19" Sony Trinitron in a woodgrain plastic case. I had both TV's connected to the DTV converter and, of course, the old Sony had the best picture and that's the one he bought for $30. I used to get more than that for a 19" B&W and there was a time when I never sold a 19" remote/cable ready color TV for less than $100.

I wonder how long it will be before we can buy 32" flat panels for $99 at wal-mart?

Whatever, I'll just keep using my old tube TV's that no one else wants.
