As far as I am concerned, yes, a remote is a remote. What you did, with all those modulators, sounds like an awful lot of trouble to go to just to be able to use an outdated remote. Most people today could not care less about (or are too young to remember) clicking TV remotes; all they know is infrared TV remotes and IR remote-control cable and/or DTV converters. This is, after all, the 21st century, and infrared remotes on TVs and cable boxes is the way it's done these days--no one else cares about those old clickers (except you and, apparently, some others here at VK). If you were to tell a teenager today that you have a TV with a remote that clicks and the TV itself audibly clunks through the channels, he or she might look at you as if you were nuts. Using a Rube Goldberg system of RF modulators just to be able to use your precious 60-year-old clicking TV remote is okay if it makes you happy, but the point I'm trying to make is that most other people outside our hobby might wonder why you are hopelessly behind the times.
