If anything Doug should know as he has got all the Zenith manuals covering the time frame of the set in question.

I thought they were still using mostly an all tube (More than 4 tubes) chassis but also using a solid state board assy that was fixed to the chassis.

The all solid state chassis would be more in line with the use of Chroma color CRT's in around '71-'72.

Although I have seen a similar knob config used in a 1968 model before they went for the single knob VHF/UHF tuner arrangement.
