I have the same analog cable service that's been at this house, for the most part, as long as there's been cable service (30+ years) in my area; so, my analog sets work just as they always have. For the sets not connected to cable, I use a DTV converter and am perfectly happy. Most of the people that I sell TV's to have analog cable or satellite; so, it does not matter that they don't have an ATSC tuner built in. And, I will continue to use my old analog sets for as long as I can keep them going.
As far as the "untested" or "it worked when last used" line on ebay; that's a guarantee that it does not work. I really get a laugh when some sellers say "unable to test due to the lack of proper resources". I usually think to myself "what, you don't have access to an AC outlet to plug your item in".
